About

I grew up in NC and by my teens my music was on NPR and I got to play at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.  After high school I went to ASU and to get into music school I had to learn to read music in 2 months and became the youngest member of first chair then the youngest section leader in the guitar program.

After learning that Jimmy Herring used to teach at the Atlanta Institute of Music, I recorded a demo at ASU’s brand new recording studio only to have the Head of AIM not believe it was me on the tape!

After the Atlanta Institute of Music, I went into teaching, hard.  I peaked at 55 student a week and got incredibly sick of drawing diagrams.  I played a ton of gigs including a clinic with my hero, Shawn O’Rourke of Aquarium Rescue Unit!  I played at churches and in every style of music I could find in Atlanta.

I next moved to Savannah, but in the month before my move, I wrote my first book!  It had been bouncing in my head for a long time and I had a little time for once.  When I got to Savannah I got a teaching job and joined Hitman and the Blues Band, a you guessed it, blues band and in like 4 months we had won best blues band in Savannah from Connect Magazine.  My real thrill was when I got to jam with Jack Sherman and Eric Culberson, two living legends.  In addition to all the teaching, I also got to play for the Savannah Theater.

Casey is available for lessons, Skype, clinics, sessions and gigs.

Casey uses Curt Mangan strings and Gadow guitars.
